Dhaka varsity suspends pro-VC held for sheltering cafe attackers
Acting deputy vice chancellor of a private university in Bangladesh arrested for sheltering Islamists who carried out the country’s worst terror attack at a cafe in Dhaka, has been suspended. Professor M Gias Uddin Ahsan of North South University has been suspended following his arrest on charges of sheltering militants before the Dhaka terror attack.
10 CRPF commandos killed in Naxal ambush
Ten commandos belonging to the elite COBRA battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force were killed and five others injured after a group of 200 Naxals surrounded troops and blew off 22 Improvised Explosive Devices in the jungles of Bihar’s Aurangabad district. This is one of the biggest casualties of the elite COBRA unit which has been raised by the CRPF in 2008 for undertaking special jungle/guerrilla warfare operations.
Fire sinks 2 Navy patrol boats at Mumbai dockyard
Two patrol boats of the Indian Navy sank at the naval dockyard in Mumbai following a fire that broke out in one of them. Media reports said prompt fire fighting actions taken by the duty staff prevented the fire from spreading to other boats in close vicinity. Navy sources said there was no loss of life or collateral damage to other naval assets in the harbour.
German cops kill Afghan teen behind axe attack in train
The German police have shot dead a 17-year-old Afghan refugee who attacked 20 passengers on a train in northern Bavaria with an axe and a knife, seriously wounding three. Fourteen people were treated for shock. The attacker was an asylum seeker who had arrived in Germany as an unaccompanied minor and had been living with a foster family. The motive of the attack was not immediately clear.
Top Pakistani judge's kidnapped son found
The kidnapped son of the Chief Justice of Sindh high court was rescued from the clutches of Pakistani Taliban by the military in a raid, the third high-profile abduction case to be solved in recent months. Awais Ali Shah, a lawyer himself, was abducted from Karachi. He was found in Tank, which lies close to the tribal region bordering Afghanistan where the military has been battling the Taliban. Three militants were killed during the operation.

According to the police, the gang used to hack the server of the examination centres & solve the papers with the help of external experts.
